Well, the suitcase I’m going to check has been packed. I must praise myself: contrary to what I usually do, I seem not to have packed too much. The suitcase is “only” 41 pounds, and I’m allowed 50. Tomorrow morning I’ll pack my carry-on, and then, at shortly after 8, we’ll leave for San Antonio. Very likely I’ll drive myself to the airport, and then Mary will drive back, since she’ll be staying here to take care of the animals. With me flying to Germany mainly to get my regular doctors’ check-ups done it would be somewhat boring for her.
My planned itinerary [I hope it’ll work out fine]:
- 11:52: dep. San Antonio
- 12:54: arr. Houston
- 16:20: dep. Houston [on Lufthansa’s A 380]
- 08:08 [on Sunday, Oct. 28]: arr. Frankfurt
- 10:09: dep. Frankfurt [by train, ICE]
- 10:47: arr. Siegburg
And then, very likely, it’ll be tram and bus to Hersel, where I’ll be staying with friends.
It’ll be interesting to be flying on that big A 380 for the first time.
