Forever Stamps …

… are something I find quite remarkable here in the US. It’s those stamps – at present at 44 ct – for regular letters that remain valid even after the postage has been raised and all the other stamps are no longer valid for standar letters, but require additional postage.

  1. Actually, the current rate is 45¢. It is scheduled to go to 46¢ on January 27, 2013.

  2. The French have them too. If I remember well, they were introduced some time when they launched those sticker stamps we now have everywhere (whatever the real English term for these are 😉
