Lately, in fact, that is, since the beginning of the year, we have had, to tell the truth, fairly good weather [except for a few days]: with 15.43 inches up to now we’ve already had more rain than during the whole of the last year and it hasn’t been as hot and humid by far as during April and May last year. And consequently we really have a sea of sunflowers:
Let’s hope that this summer will be “somewhat untypical”, that is wetter and less hot, than the last two summers. We have good conditions for that as La Niña, that area of cold water in the Pacific Ocean, which usually means hotter and drier summers than usual, has become nearly non-existent. But then, we need plenty of rain absolutely urgently as all our reservoirs are still well below full and as the agricultural irrigation has set in by now, which means extensive use of water.
Wow Pit I would love them in my garden 🙂
We currently have five growing 🙂
By now, though, most of them are gone.
It’s been a good spring up here with the right amount of rain. I hope it stays that way through the summer and that we can avoid a bad tornado season.
Cheers.
Hi Randall,
Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment.
Yes, let’s hope we will be safe from tornadoes and hurricans.
Take care, and enjoy the weekend,
Pit
