Summer in Texas

What I’ve just read:

Come July, the devil stokes his furnaces real high, opens the draft, sends the flames to Texas so he can set up headquarters her in August and September.”

quoted from: James Michener, Texas (New York, 1987), p. 593

Talking of James Michener’s “Texas”: That’s one of my favourite book as it gives, in narrative form and though plenty of it is fictional, a deep insight into Texas history and the events and circumstances that shaped the “Texas character”.

One response to “Summer in Texas

  1. I heard someone on the radio say recently that “The devil has his summer home in Texas.”

    Cheers.

I'd really love to hear from y'alls!
