From Monday to Thursday this week we were in Fredericksburg/TX again, on the look-out for property, and this time we stayed at the “Cyclismo“.
This wonderful B(&B) is run by Frank Floyd, an avid bicyclist, and therefore especially – but not only – caters for bicyclists. I was really happy to be there as I had forgotten my bicycle helmet and Frank immediately offered me one of his and this made it possible for me to do some bicycling. Frank also offers, btw, bicycle storage and – of course – advice on where to ride in the vicinity of Fredericksburg. He was extremely helpful, not only with bicycling gear, but also when the fridge in our suite didn’t work. He immediately came by and fixed it! And left us a bowl of the yummiest Hill Country peaches!!!
We stayed in the ground-floor suite and enjoyed it a lot. There is a small but perfectly sufficient living-room [with kitchen and a small dining table], plus a bedroom with a queen bed and – of course – a bathrooms with tub/shower. And then there’s a really wonderful porch at the back of the suite, with gorgeous views of the garden down to the lush green vegetation of Baron’s Creek.
The “Cyclismo” is quite centrally loocated, on E- Creek, close to the intersection with S. Adams, within walking distance to the city centre. And in spite of the fact that it is quite close to this busy street, it’s quiet there: easy to relax on the porch, listen to the birds and just look at the creek.
We enjoyed it a lot and are certainly planning to go back there soon.
